Dixie – Adopted Sept. ‘03

dixie1grass.jpg

I went to evaluate Dixie at a Spokane shelter and found a very “shut down” girl that would hardly look at me.  She leaned up against the chain link of her kennel with sad eyes looking out and a blank look on her face. I immediately loaded her up in to my car and talked sweet to her the whole way back to Pullman. Slowly I saw her come alive again and realize she was safe. She was estimated at around 8 years but she could of been more like 10 years +. Not until we got her back to Pullman was it determined that she was deaf. Dixie was a gal that truly deserved a 2nd chance at life and to live her golden years in comfort and feeling loved.

She currently lives with her wonderful family and two other ACDs in Eastern WA. (above) picture of Dixie with her new family and in the middle (Dr. Marissa Greenberg, her foster mom) on “adoption day”.
